Such an Easy Recipe

A few years ago my friend, {Hi Katie R!} gave me this recipe to throw together for an easy night of cooking,  I just reused it tonight, and it made me remember how much I love it and why.

So, I am sharing... sorry no pics though.

Step 1.  Make chicken cutlets {via stove top}.

Step 2. Make a package of creamed spinach.

Step 3. Place cutlets in a shallow dish, top with creamed spinach and slices of provolone OR mozzarella {depending on your taste}.

Step 4. Place in broiler until cheese is melted.

Voila!  Meal magic in mere minutes! {Say THAT 10 times, fast}  Lol.

Enjoy.

A Little Comedy

Sometimes, on the long drive from our hometown each weekend, Jason likes to listen to comedy shows via YouTube.  We just pull it up on the iPhone, plug it in, and it's a nice change of pace from the normal music routine.

A few weeks ago he pulled up Jim Breuer... we've seen him live, and honestly, he's always been HYSTERICAL.  BUT, this particular show had a bunch of material about parenthood, and I swear, I almost peed my pants on the way home.

I DO think, though, that if I wasn't a parent, I would not have laughed as hard.

Either way, I want to share with you.  If you want to watch the whole special, it is called "Let's Clear The Air." But, if not, just please watch this, if not the whole thing then just from the 7:00 min mark on... it's that good.

Every time I watch it I die laughing!!  I really hope you enjoyed.

Btw, please check out my new sections up top.  I need some feedback on the "Project 365" section, should I always put new pictures up top and count down?  Or go in order from Jan. 1st?

iBaby

How is it, that I know quite a few GROWN adults that are paralyzed with fear at the thought of having to use an iPhone {or any other form of modern technology}, but my 16 month old little girl can navigate one like a pro??

For real.

I was under the assumption that it was "safe" to hand Gwen my LOCKED iPhone, and it be a solid distraction.  Well, it was a distraction, but only bc she was busy unlocking it and deleting Apps!

Thanks, kiddo. ;)

Our children are going to be SO technologically advanced, probably before they even reach Kindergarten.

This got me thinking...

Gwen will never know life without a computer, cell phone {at a certain age}, blu ray,GPS, iPod...  just like I never knew a life without a television, VCR, Walkman.

She will think of Oprah as we thought of Ed Sullivan.

Will "Saved By The Bell" be to her as "Leave It To Beaver" was to us?

Will our skinny jeans and ankle boots give her a good laugh?

Will the Clinton scandal be to her as the Nixon scandal was to us, just history??

Are we getting old??

When you are growing up, you never think that one day all the things that you loved/enjoyed/experienced will be considered history/old/not so cool.

Talk about things coming full circle!

Happy Monday :)

Spidey Saturday

Can I start by telling you that the weather yesterday was absolutely PERFECT for walking around the city?!?!

Seriously, we could not have asked for a better day.

My Dad and Step Mom bought all of their kids (4 total) plus dates {Of course the Hubs} tickets to Spiderman on Broadway plus dinner, for Christmas.  Great gift, right??!?

So, everyone met at our house and we took the PATH into the city for the day.

The show was really great!!! Spidey flies into the audience, lands on balconies, AND the whole score was created by Bono and The Edge... so yea, it was pretty freakin' good.  It was definitely one of the more adventurous shows I've ever seen... and I would HIGHLY recommend it!

After the show we headed to dinner, which was an adventure in itself, but turned out to be some great bonding time while we waited.  And the Sangria... yummmmmm!!!

We also did some "tourist" walking around Times Square {had to make good use of my camera}, before heading to the AH-mazing Irish Pub O'Lunney's for some fun.

What a fab day!

I do have to say that I could not keep my eyes open when we got home... like, I was BEGGING to go to bed, lol.  Am I really getting old????   :)

Thanks Dad & Joyce for such a thoughtful Christmas present... nothing is as valuable as time together.

Where Am I Today??

Well, peeps, be jealous.  Lol.  I am in NYC with Jason and some family, to see...

and of course, for some dinner and cocktails!  Yay!

I seriously can't wait until Gwen is old enough to share in the experience that is Broadway.  It just amazing.

The last time Jason and I got to see a show was my birthday 2010, before Gwen was born.  We went and saw Rock Of Ages, and it was AH-mazing!  But, it has been WAY too long since we have been there, and I am so excited to go back.

Let's see what Bono has to offer!

Hopefully tons of pics to follow.

Happy Saturday!

I'll be taking these bad boys for their first spin around town ;)

It Used To Be Easy

When Gwen was still a little bitty infant, unable to walk, and less sassy opinionated, we would go out shopping all the time.  I'd bundle her up in her infant car seat, snap it into the stroller, and we could spend hours out and about the town.

Boy, how times have changed.

Going out is WORK.  Shopping is WORK. {isn't that a sin or something?!?!}

But, it's true.  Gwen is no longer, shall we say, cooperative, she is mobile, antsy, and downright hard to control at times.

I mean, she's still fun, but she does NOT want to be in the stroller or shopping cart, and if I let her down {BIG MISTAKE}, she doesn't want to hold my hand, she just wants to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnn.  Any direction OTHER than the one we need to be going in.  Might I also add, that if things don't work out the way that Miss Gwen would like, well, let's just say that she has PERFECTED the Tantrum.  Awesome, right?

Now, I am sure that you have all seen these things:

Kid leashes. {that's what I call them}  But, more appropriately named A Child Harness.

Well, I hate them.  Always have.  Something bout it seems so wrong.  And even though, I will still not be purchasing one...

I get it now.

So, parents that do use them, I am no longer judging you.

What about you?  Do you use one?  What are your opinions?  Any tips on making shopping with a marathon runner very active toddler survivable any easier??

xoxo.
