Our Love Song Link Up = FAIL!

I totally was planning to do my "Our Love Song" link up, but with all of my slacking that occurred this month, I didn't really keep up my end of the bargain. So, I'll present mine to you, and if you feel like linking up, PLEASE do so, but if not, please enjoy. :)

Adventures With
Gwen

So, tell me what your "song" is.  Be it, wedding, favorite, anything.  Just what is yours.  That one song that no matter where you are, whenever you hear it, you think of that special person.

The name of Our love song is...

"Hard To Concentrate"

Sung by...
The Red Hot Chili Peppers

Year it was released.
2006
How/why you chose it.
We found this song while we were dating and loved it so much that the minute we got engaged we KNEW this would be what we danced to together for the first time as man and wife.

It's not your typical "first dance" song, but that's why we love it.

And I LOVE that it isn't a song that ever hit the radio airwaves, because that means that it isn't many other couple's song.

It's ours.

Favorite lyric or part of the song.
The end of the song, the words are "Finally, you have found someone perfect, and, finally you have found... yourself."

Melts.me.

Simple, right?

AND, since I love our song, my husband, and our wedding so so SO much, I put together a lil sumthin sumthin for your viewing pleasure.

Jason,  this is for you.  I love you so much.  This song brings me back to days when marriage wasn't even a thought in our minds, then onto the night we were engaged, to the dance parties you and I had in our living room, and most importantly, to our first dance as husband and wife.  It is ours. I am THE luckiest woman in the world!  Not a day goes by that I don't realize that.  I hope that I make you feel just as amazing as you make me feel.

Being your wife and Gwen's Momma, makes my life so full of love and makes me feel so accomplished.  Thank you for the way that you love your girls, the way that you protect us, and devote yourself to our little family.  You are an amazing man, husband, and father, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life loving you.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Saturdays's Top 5 Laughs! {On Sunday}

I seriously love this link up...

Photobucket

If you haven't met or read Melissa's blog, go, now {well, after you're done reading this post}, I know you'll love it.

Now, onto my laughs.

1.  Yesterday, Jason, Gwen, and I went to the Valentine's Day Party held by the Mommy group we recently joined {more on that in another post}.  And not only could Gwen have cared less, she spent the ENTIRE party, running up and down the hallway/restaurant... with Daddy following behind her.  We ALL need a nap afterwards, ok, and maybe a glass of wine or two.

2.  Gwen does what we call "The Grandpa." It's a dance move where you kick your leg out in front of you, and it's hysterical to watch her {and us} do it all over the house. lol.

3.  {Not funny to me, but maybe to you}  Monday morning {after the awesome NY Giants won the Super Bowl}, Gwen and I were in the Grocery Store, and a manager came up to Gwen and gave her a free {leftover} Super Bowl balloon.  I thought it was cute {Gwen did not, she wanted nothing to do with this man} UNTIL he said, "Don't cry little guy."  Well, sir, maybe she wouldn't be crying if you didn't just call her a boy!! I just don't get it, even in head to toe pink, still she gets called a boy... we need some damn hair!

4.  Last weekend, Gwen's Grandpa and Grandma watched Gwen overnight while we attended that family wedding.  {Thank you so very much}  And only 12-ish short hours later, Grandma and Grandpa were singing every word to "The Fresh Beat Band" songs... haha.  It's addicting. lol.

5.  This week, Gwen has been getting up in the middle of the night.  This is DEVASTATING to us because she has been SUCH a good sleeper.  Needless to say, we have been a bit sleep deprived and tired/cranky.  Last night, like clockwork, Gwen woke up, and although I was successful in putting her back to sleep.  I was wide awake.  So I played a few "With Friends" games until my eyes were tired.  It definitely wasn't enough sleep though bc I am pretty sure that I growled, yes growled at my husband this morning.  Poor guy took the hint and the baby out to the living room so "mama bear" could catch up on her zzzzzzzzzzzz's.

Mama bear is happy now :)

Hope you are having a great weekend.
We're loving a lazy Sunday today.  Much needed.

xoxo.

Love Story Link Up

Becky over @ From Mrs. to Mama is hosting the "What's Your Love Story" link up, and I thought what a great way to get all in the lovey dovey mood for Valentine's Day, right?

1. How long have you and your significant other been togetherWe met in September 2004, but didn't make it "official" until December 2006.  So I will say a little over 5 years.

2. How did you meet?  Oh, good Lord, I can't believe that I am writing this... I used to work for Jason's Best Friend and had actually met him a few times, but I usually had my hair up in a pony tail, glasses on, and not very attractive clothing.  And we never really interacted much. So, one night we were all at a party and he introduced himself to me, and I replied "We've met before" and explained who I was.  His reply was "Well, you don't look like THAT at work!"  Charming, right?!?!  But, it worked.  I was hooked, and so was he! :)

3. If married, how long have you been married? We were married October 10, 2009.  So, almost 2 1/2 years now.

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? We were married in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, on the beach, with a completely outside reception.  We originally thought that it would be a typical size destination wedding, but we ended up sharing our special day with 125 of our family and friends. And it was absolutely perfect.

5. Do you have any nicknames that you call one another?  B, he calls me "Little Girl" and I call him "Old Man" {there's 6 years between us}, babe, baby, hun, honey, he calls me punkin'.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.  His amazingly positive, cheerful, and infectious personality.  The completely heart melting way that he loves his girls {Gwen & I :)}.  OBVIOUSLY his good looks!

7. Tell us how he proposed.  In front of both of our families at our first Christmas party together.  He began thanking everyone from coming and then turned to me and got on one knee. It was such a fun night and a great way to celebrate!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals? Jason is the flowers, nice dinner, romantic night out type guy.  And I love it. ;)

9. Are you a sunset on the beach kind of girl, or the pop a movie in and relax on the couch? I used to be a SUNSET girl all the time, but now, I could do either.  And I HATE leaving our little girl, so I've become more of a "drink wine and watch a movie" girl.

10. Tell us one thing that you would like to do with your significant other. If you could do anything? Go anywhere? I would love to travel with Jason, like Greece, Italy, Ireland, many islands... just see the world... when our kids are all grown and stuff.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing this Valentine's Day.  Well, being that it is on a Tuesday, we will spend the night making dinner and hanging with the most important person in our lives. Duh, Gwen, obviously.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's Day? Nope, but I DO like sweet surprises {hint, hint, wink, wink}.  Actually instead of expensive flowers that die way too quickly, I'd rather flowers from Shop-Rite that last a long time.  Or even better, and Edible Arrangement... mmmm.

13. Give us on piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.  BOOZE. haha. Relax, peeps, I am mostly totally kidding. :)  I would say honesty, understanding, and spontanaity.  And to know that if you don't grow with the relationship, you will eventually grow apart.

14. Show us a picture of what love means.
I've got a few ;)

I love you, Jason.  My life is better because you are a part of it!
Happy, happy Friday!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend planned!

xoxo.

A Wedding, A Party, A Win, A Parade, and More

It's been way too long.
Yes, I am aware.
But, it has been so busy around here, that I haven't even looked at my blog, let alone any others, in quite a few days. {I promise to catch up, but I thought I should blog first}

FYI- this is going to be a long one :)

So, Gwen is finally pretty close to back to heathly, thank God, because I thought that I was going to lose my mind if I had to see her suffer another week!  No one warns you that your baby being sick will be MUCH harder for YOU to deal with than them.

Where have I been, you may ask... well, here's the scoop.

This past weekend began, what we would like to call, Our Year of the Wedding.  We attended our first of 8, yes, EIGHT weddings this year.  The first being this past weekend and the last being in late October.  Crazy, right?!!  Gonna have to remortgage the house!!  lol.  Anyway, it was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time hanging out with family and letting loose for the night.

The next day, we had some family and friends over to watch the Super Bowl.  Guess who won??   The NY Giants, OH YEAH!!!!  It was such a good game, a nail biter at some moments, but nevertheless, we prevailed!  Go Big Blue

Nervous Men!

So, what do devoted fans do after a big Super Bowl win?!?!  We got to the celebratory parade! Duh!  The only thing missing was little Miss Gwen, she's still a little too young for all that chaos.  {Thanks so much to Gwen's Grandpa for spending the day with her}

So crazy, so fun!

And now, back to reality.

The Mommy Group that I joined recently is having their Valentine's Pizza Party this Saturday and Jason and I get to meet even more of the group members.  {We haven't been able to do much with them bc Gwen has been sick}  I am really looking forward to it!

Here's some updated baby lovin :)

xoxo.

Birthday Wishes

Today is Gwen's Poppi's, my Dad's birthday!!!

Boo to him though, because he is celebrating on a tropical island right now, lol, I'm totally jealous!  BUT, we DID have a gorgeous day here today, if only Gwen were all better and we could have spent it outside ALL.DAY.LONG!

Happy Birthday, Dad/Poppi!  We love you and hope that you have a fabulous day!

Gwen's New Favorite Book

Something you should know about me, I am in NO way an impulse buyer... unless it is like 90 % off original price.  I believe that there is always a coupon, deal, or sale that I can find.  I would call me a research driven shopper.

But when I saw this on Pinterest {of course}, I HAD.TO.HAVE.IT.

Immediately.

So, I went over to Pint Size Productions and made one, that day.

We have such a big family that I thought I was a perfect way to display all of the special people in Gwen's life.

Well, it came today, and it is safe to say that we are in love.

It is beautiful and durable and the perfect size for Gwen.

The total cost was around $27, and although I wouldn't normally spend that much on a children's book, THIS is SO worth it!!!!

Happy Monday, peeps!

Done With This Week

Ugh.

That is how I feel about this week.

Gwen isn't any better... well that's a lie, her ear infections are better, but her lungs, still the same.  And now, with her nose running all week, she has a bacterial infection.

Like most kids when they are sick, she is not her normal self.  Tons of crying, and needing, and some more crying... poor girl... poor momma.

SO, I am done with this week.

Bring on a new week.

A healthy week.

Oh, wait, I forgot to mention that now Hubs and I aren't feeling so great.  Perfect.

If I throw in the towel for next week as well, do you think I have  better shot at a good week?  Lol.

Saw this on the most addictive site ever Pinterest tonight and it made me smile, and realize that not only will we survive, but this is not the last time that we will have to endure these kind of things.   And more importantly, that it is ALL worth it.  Every.single.second.

Happy Friday!  Hope you have a healthy weekend, lol, and send some health our way too!

BTW, I DO see the beauty in it all :)

xoxo.
