Gwen Purchases

For the first time in Gwen's 18months, she is starting to become "low" on clothes.  She is good for right now, but when the weather really gets warm, she doesn't have everything that she needs.  My awesome friend, Serena, was sweet enough to send me some hand me downs from her adorable daughter, Ashlee, so I have all of that stuff {which btw, there were SO many clothes, SHOES, and even some jackets!!!}.  But, I felt like I needed to get her some dresses, bc if she is anything like her Momma, she can spend ALL summer in them!!

I started my search... bc we all know that I won't buy something without it being "a deal" lol.

Wellllll, I have done pretty well in the last 2 weeks!

I shopped Zulily. {If you aren't on this site, umm, you need to be!}  And picked up these cuties:
All 3 at just $11{originally $32} a piece, with FREE shipping!!!!  Yay me!!

I also bought some sandals from another site, and some dresses from Target... but am saving those for another post.

If you haven't joined yet, please click the Zulily link above and join, join, join!!!

On another note, we are headed back to the Dr. tomorrow, yet again!  Ughhhh.  Gwen developed a rash all over her legs, and although it isn't bothering her, it is KILLING me.  I need my healthy bambino back!

G'nite.

Validation

Being a stay-at-home mom was never something that I expected to be in life.  And even though I am thoroughly enjoying it, and dread that day that I ever have to leave Gwen in the care of someone else, that doesn't mean that I don't have "those" days.

Sad days.

Days when I think, "I can't believe that I don't 'bring' anything {monetarily} into this house."  Second guessing myself because I don't have a "9-5" job.

{Believe me, I know that my "role" in this house is invaluable, my husband reminds me of all the great things that I do, but sometimes it doesn't matter.}

THEN, there are the days {like the past 3 days} when my baby is sick, unhappy, and cranky, and I can't help but think, "What DIDN'T I do?"  "How can I fix this?"  "Is it my fault" because I am her keeper and supposed to protect her and keep her safe and well.

{I know that it is NOT my fault, that it's life, it's going to happen many more times, it just sucks in that moment}

And then, just when at that lowest moment in the crappy day, it happens... my validation.

After another long day and even longer night before that, Gwen got a good night's rest, but at 4am she was thirsty/hungry/not feeling well and woke up crying.  Instead of just screaming and yelling, but still crying, she perfectly whimpered "Mom," then waited a few seconds and "Mom" again. She's been able to say this for a long time, but it was HOW she was saying it.  She KNEW who she was calling for and why.

 She was calling ME, her mother, because she needed me, because she knew that I would take care of her.  That I would make her feel better, comfort her, soothe her.

It was at that moment {yes, 4am} that I got what I needed.

And that, my friends, makes me proud.
We're on the mend, cooped up inside, so please enjoy this amazing weather for us!!

First Game of The Season

As our Easter present, instead of baskets, my Mom bought us tickets to see our Yankees!  The game was yesterday and it could not have been a more perfect weather day, good thing, because a tan is all we got, not a win :(

Yes, they lost.  But it's ok, they only have like 100+ games left :)

The whole time, I couldn't help but think "I can't wait to bring Gwen here."  And I really can't.  I want to share with her all of our traditions, and love for the Yankees, and I know her Daddy can't wait either!

As for my Daddy, he was at the game Friday {opening day!} lucky duck.  We'll be getting together some time during the season for a game, I'm sure of it.

Anyway, we are resting today, had a nice morning, church, house/yard work, and nap, and then...

Gwen woke up with a fever! Grr.  So we are hanging out on the couch, watching Rio, and hoping this goes away.

My poor baby.

Here are some pics from our trip to the Bronx.

Such a fun day!  Thanks, Mom, for the great Easter gift!

Hope you had a great weekend.

Apologies, Easter Unload & Upcomings

First and foremost, I'm sorry.

Sorry that I have been a bad blogger.

Holidays REALLY kick my ass.

The traveling, packing and unpacking, etc... it takes me a few days to get back to normal. For us to get back into our routine.

So, here I am.
{Please forgive me}

Easter weekend was a lot of fun for us, we got to spend some great quality time with our families.  And here are just some pics from our adventures.
Her fav part of her Easter Basket. Her, Grandpa, and Uncle Phil had fun throwing it all over the place!

Happy belated Easter from our family to yours.
So other than getting back to normalcy, we have some stuff going on...
...so I am going to do a brain unload as well.  In bullet form.

  • I joined the site House Party, more about it at a later date, and they chose me to host a Keurig Vue Party and I just received a brand new Keurig Vue and Party Pack!! I am beyond excited! So awesome, more deets later.
  • Gwen had her 18 month check up today.  That girl is 34.5 inches long!!!  So tall! And healthy as could be, except that she may have exercise induced asthma :(  Hopefully, she will grow out of it!
  • This weekend we are going to the Yankee's 2nd home game!! Yankee pride runs through our veins, and I can't wait to see our boys in pinstripes for the first time this year!
  • I am currently considering taking on babysitting, since I am already home, and the extra cash would always be welcome.  But, not too sure yet. I'll have to think about it! Lol.
  • I have had a small obsession with Zulily and Totsy lately. Can't wait for my stuff to ship so I can share with you all. so.stinkin.cute.
  • The {meaning mine} birthday is just a few weeks away, and I am trying to figure out what it is that I want to do for my "night out."  I am thinking Lucky Strike in Manhattan, but still not sure.
  • OH.EM.GEE.  Are you people reading Fifty Shades of Grey???? Holy addicted.  I started it Tuesday night, couldn't put it down and finshed it this morning.  Totally intense, definitely made me blush a few times, but I CANNOT wait for the second book.  Like, need.it.now.  Check it out.
I think that's it for now.  I promise to stick around.

So glad tomorrow is Friday... AND that I don't have to pack this weekend ;)

The Barking Pig

Last summer, when we went to the Meadowlands State Fair and Daddy won Gwen a HUGE stuffed piggy.  The past few days, Gwen has been borderline obsessed it.  She lugs that thing {it's at least twice her size} out into the living room and plops right on it.  It's hysterical.

Well, last night, Jason got in on the fun... Wiley tried too...

I didn't know that pigs barked, but it is pretty funny.

Jason has off tomorrow, yay, and I can't wait to get the long weekend starts!

Birthday Wishlist Item - Fulfilled/Pinteresting

In case you didn't know, my birthday is a mere, 26 days away, and just so that everyone was "prepared" {lol} I put together a nice little wishlist for anyone who loves me enough to buy me a gift. {Chillax, peeps, I am kidding, it's mainly for the Hubs, bc he did SO WELL with my Santa WishList! BUT, if you want to buy me a gift, feel free to email me and I wish send you my address ;)} Haha.

Anyway, I found out that I will be receiving a gift on Friday... a sewing machine!!! {It's being handed down to me, but that is fine with me!}

I can't begin to tell you how psyched I am!

I know that I have a TON to learn, but I can't wait to be making Gwen pillowcase dresses!  Or anything else that I can put together!

One thing though, I don't know where to start.  I haven't even ever sewn a button on, but I am so determined.  I see all these amazing creations made by moms, just like me.  And believe me, I don't need to get fancy, just the basics.

I CAN do this, right?

Either way, I am ready to take on the challenge.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get started, I would be very grateful!

Now on to some Pinning!

Eight, Ten, More and Less

Eight
Weeks until Memorial Day. {ahh!}

Ten
The number of pounds I would like to be lighter. {bc as of right now, if given the choice of putting on a bathing suit or death, I may choose death right now. lol. kidding, sort of.}

More
I need to drink more water, eat more greens, and pay more attention to my health and skin.  I want to be more active.  More confident.  More toned.

Less
I hope to weigh less, judge my body less.

I am starting a journey, today.  I don't have a plan, per se, but I have things that I want to accomplish, to incorporate into my life.  I have goals.  I need to focus a little more on me.  I need to be healthier, not just for me, but for my family too.

I can do this.  I will do this.

I'll keep you updated.

xoxo.
