Last Day

Well, today is my last day of 27...
tomorrow will be a whole new year of my life.

And, to be honest, my life couldn't be any better.  Seriously.  You may think that I am being cliche' or even exaggerating, but I'm not.

No, life isn't "perfect," but I don't think that I could ask for anything more {ok, except the winning lottery ticket, lol}.

Let's think about this...
I am married to my BEST friend.  Who ADORES me.  He really does.  I know that my happiness means the WORLD to him, and that it why I love him. {Love you Jason}

I have the most beautiful daughter, whom I get to spend every single day with.  She is my BFF and I couldn't imagine not being her Momma.

I have friends and family that are so supportive and loving.  Who I can always rely on.  And I hope that they know they can always rely on me.

So, I am beyond excited to begin this next year of my life with my amazing family.  We are headed out to dinner tomorrow, just us three, and some cuddles in bed.

Buuuuut... I had my "adult" bday Saturday at Lucky Strike in the city {NYC} and it was FABulous!

We bowled, drank, ate, drank some more, took pics, and oh, drank some more. {What?!? It was my night out!!!}

I don't know what my scores were... and I don't care! lol.

Seriously though, it was such a great time.  Thank you to my hubs, bro, sis-in-law, and cousins-in-law, for making my night so special. Love.you.all.

Here are some pics from our "cray" night out:

He totally thinks this turns me on... it doesn't. lol.
Ok, so I had a few drinks...
They bought me a "birthday" pin & all signed it!
I was so touched. They wrote such nice things!

I love him, with all that I have.
Breakin' rules, lol.

The boys.
Drinks kickin' in.
Love them!
Danger! {Sherri, I could only think of you!!!}

:)

Thank you for such an amazing night out!  You guys mean SO much to me... it was a perfect celebration.

Hope you had a great weekend.
xoxo.

Laugh It Up

I am linking up with Melissa, again, because frankly, I need some laughs after the past two weeks.

I haven't gotten the chance to write about it, but my poor baby's "double ear infection"
actually turned out to be EBV {Epstein-Barr Virus}. Ugh.  So we are headed back for more blood work Tuesday to make sure her body is getting back to normal.

Sick babies = NO BUENO.

So, let's laugh it up, shall we?

1.  Two of Gwen's newest favorite words are "Whoa" and "Wow" and she uses them at the best times!  If I hand her a grape... "Wooooooooooooow!!"  Haha!  Or if she throws a ball over her head... "Whoooooooooooooa"!  Cracks me up just thinking about it.

2.  Lately, the car is where I do most of my talking on the phone {relax, it's via the car's bluetooth}, and the other day I was trying to talk to my mom about all the "Dr./blood work/sickness" stuff and every single time I would go to talk Gwen would ramble/shout and talk over me.  Then she would stop, and I would try again, but she started all over again.  I guess she just wanted to talk to her Wela, lol!

3.  Gwen could easily be mistaken for that clip of "Family Guy" when Stewie goes, "Mom."  "Ma." "Mommy." "mom." "Mom." "MOOOOM!!"  Me-"What?"  Gwen- "Hi."  Haha. She just chants "mom" all. day. long.  Love her.

4.  Gwen has finally stopped calling Wiley, "Good-boooooy" and has mastered his name.  Sort of.  It's the cutest thing, she pronounces it "Why-yeeeee" and it melts me every time.  She has been so interested in him lately, she'll walk over to him and just bend down to give him a kiss.  Love it.

5.  This is the strangest... in the last week, the ONLY way that Gwen will drink her water is to pour it from her Sippy Cup, into another cup {we're talking DROPS at a time} and then gulps it down.  So funny, but so messy.  Hope this doesn't last too long.

Have a great weekend!  It's party time for me tonight!  Deets and pics later.

xoxo.

A Piece of History

Today, before travelling to it's temporary on the Intrepid, the Space Shuttle Enterprise took a trip up the Hudson River... and right over our heads!!!

This is Jason's view at work...
not bad, eh?!?

So, Gwen and I headed over to Jason's work, just in time to catch the shuttle.

 Here are some pics {I left them unedited} taken by my Hubs as Gwen and I hung out and watched.
Coming over the Verrazano Bridge

If you look to the left of the Empire State Building, Enterprise is hiding in the low background.

It was a very cool experience!  Even though she won't remember it, I am glad that we got to share it with Gwen.

Happy Friday, peeps!
xoxo.

Wrinkly Hands

The last week of April/first week of May holds 3 very important family birthdays.  The first of those birthdays, is my Pop-Pop's which was yesterday!
Happy Birthday, Pop-Pop! We love you so much and can't wait to see you in a few weeks!

My Pop, ALWAYS tells this story about me, I think it's his favorite... so I thought that I would share.

When my grandparents were still living in the same town as us, we used to spend SO much time there.  They had "a Mickey" room filled with toys for all of us grandkids, and a huge in ground pool that we all learned to swim in.  They also had gardens, my Pop grew tomatoes, peaches, sunflowers, you name, they had it!

Well, one day, I think I was about 4, maybe 5, I was out "helping" my Pop garden, when I stopped him, took his hands and said, "Pop-pop, you're hands are so wrinkly, you must be getting old... {he was quite young then}" He giggled and told me that no he wasn't and that he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.  And we continued on our way. It makes me smile to think of the naive things kids say, and how sweetly my Pop answered me, and although a little embarrassed by the story I love when he tells it.

Within the past month, my Pop had a few ins and outs of the hospital, one stay in which he had a pacemaker put in, but all is well now. I spoke to him yesterday and he told me that he's going to be around at least another 12 years... and he means it!  And I am holding him to it!

I can't wait to see him again. :)

Love you, Pop.

Today is also my cousin, Cassidy's, 17th birthday!  Oh.my.word. that makes me feel old.  I remember the day that she was born, like it was yesterday.  Even though, she is my cousin, she was almost like a niece to me back then, bc of the age difference.  All of the experience I got babysitting her and her siblings is probably the reason that I felt somewhat prepared for a baby of my own.
Here's a picture I took of her a few weeks ago...

Happy birthday, Cass! Love ya!

And the 3rd birthday, which is May 1st, is MINE!  Yup, going out Saturday night to celebrate!

Hope you are having a great week!

Does She Know???

I'm linking up with Melissa today over at The Mommyhood Chronicles.  Check her out :)
Let me first say that people NEVER cease to amaze me {not in a good way}!

Gwen and I were up early this morning and decided to head to the grocery store to get our shopping out of the way {before the CROWDS showed up}.  It was a pretty normal trip...

...until our elevator ride down to the parking garage.

We head into the elevator and are greeted by the fellow passenger {a blonde woman, well dressed, probably late 50's - early 60's}.  As we pull into the elevator cart, she proceeds to say, "WHY helloooo little booooooyy!" {Idiot}

Having to deal with this all. the. time.  I smile politely and say "Girl" as I point to her earrings.

::gasps::

"Oh, I am SO sorry!" {Now here comes the best part} "Does she know?!?!"

WHAT?!?!  First off, I wish that at the moment, someone took a picture of my face, because I don't think that I have EVER been that dumbfounded.  I was shocked... and confused.

"Does she know what? That she's a GIRL?!?!"
{No, jackass she has no effing clue that she's a girl.  I was going to tell her on her 18th birthday!!!  Are you kidding me???}

"No, I mean, does she know that I just called her a boy?"

{Oh, lady, just keep digging that hole you are in!}

"No, it's fine."

The woman then proceeds to do a complete 180 and showers Gwen with more compliments than necessary about how she is such a "BEAUTIFUL little girl" and that she is going to be "just gorgeous" when she grows up.

{Well, actually I already know that, but do you really think that I believe you, when you just thought, actually CALLED her a boy?!?!}

No, I don't.  It was the loooongest 30 second elevator ride, and I was MORE than relieved when the doors opened and we were free from the brainiac's wrath of stupidity.

She followed us half way to our car, showering us with more fakeness, before saying "Goodbye precious girl" and heading on to make some other person "dumber in 30 seconds."

See what I mean, people just never cease to amaze me.

And that, peeps, was my morning.  lol.

Happy Saturday!  Enjoy your weekend!!

P.S. I didn't get a chance to post the other day that it was Gwen's Grammi's Birthday {on the 19th}
Happy Birthday Grammi! We love you!
xoxo.

Gwen Purchases

For the first time in Gwen's 18months, she is starting to become "low" on clothes.  She is good for right now, but when the weather really gets warm, she doesn't have everything that she needs.  My awesome friend, Serena, was sweet enough to send me some hand me downs from her adorable daughter, Ashlee, so I have all of that stuff {which btw, there were SO many clothes, SHOES, and even some jackets!!!}.  But, I felt like I needed to get her some dresses, bc if she is anything like her Momma, she can spend ALL summer in them!!

I started my search... bc we all know that I won't buy something without it being "a deal" lol.

Wellllll, I have done pretty well in the last 2 weeks!

I shopped Zulily. {If you aren't on this site, umm, you need to be!}  And picked up these cuties:
All 3 at just $11{originally $32} a piece, with FREE shipping!!!!  Yay me!!

I also bought some sandals from another site, and some dresses from Target... but am saving those for another post.

If you haven't joined yet, please click the Zulily link above and join, join, join!!!

On another note, we are headed back to the Dr. tomorrow, yet again!  Ughhhh.  Gwen developed a rash all over her legs, and although it isn't bothering her, it is KILLING me.  I need my healthy bambino back!

G'nite.

xoxo.
