Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge - Day 1, 2, & 3

I found this today, and am completely hooked!  I am 2 days behind, so this is my catch up!

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Holiday topics, 2 weeks {10 days}... LOVE!

Day {One} Fave gift received for Christmas

My engagement ring!  Ok, technically it wasn't Christmas, but it was only a few days before.  It is so beautiful, and every Christmas time I'm reminded of that amazing moment of our lives.

Day {Two} Fave holiday tradition, new or old

Old - Growing up, both of my parents were on the Volunteer First Aid Squad, so every year on Christmas Eve, one of the local firefighters would dress up as Santa, get on top of the fire truck and visit kids whose parents were first aiders/firefighters as well.  They would show up lights going, sirens blaring, and come inside our Mam-Mom's {we usually had dinner there on Christmas Eve} house to deliver us our "Christmas PJs".  Seriously, it was the BEST!  We always felt so special!

New - We don't have TOO many yet, bc Gwen is still young, but I love that we cut down our own tree!  It is such a cool experience, and you always know exactly how the tree is going to look in your living room!  I think that this is the 4th year that we have done it, and I don't think that we will ever change.

Day {Three}  Holiday decorations/decor

This year is a little different, seeing as how everything needs to be "high up" and out of reach for Gwen {and Wiley}.  BUT, this WILL be the first year that we will be putting lights up outside.  {I know, we are awful, but we never seemed to have the time or help to put them up in years before}.  Here's some pics of stuff around our house.

Head on over and check out this link up :)

Wordless Wednesday- Christmas Tree Decorating

Sunday, Gwen's Grammi and Poppi came up to our house to help decorate our tree.  I love the way our house feels and looks when it is all decorated... It just puts you in a good mood.

Thanks Grammi & Poppi for helping us out!  We had a great time :)

Black Friday in NYC

No Black Friday Shopping for me!  I just don't know if I have it in me.  Although, I am sure that I'll take the leap sooner or later... kids toys' are expensive! Lol.

Instead we headed into the city, for some food, a lil shopping, and adventure :)

Here's my iPhone unload on ya. {sorry the quality}

Turkey Day

We had a really great Thanksgiving!  The day was full of family, food, and some Dance Party !!!  Seriously, I get giddy over this game.  We tore it up!

Even Gwen couldn't keep away from the action!

We have more leftovers than we know what to do with, and I don't think that I can possibly eat ANY more Turkey!

Griswold-ing It

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!  I am going to post about our Thanksgiving soon, but today we went and got our Christmas Tree!!!  {And I can't wait to share with you}

We ONLY do REAL trees.  It is something that we both agree on.  We love EVERYTHING about real trees.  So much that we even cut our own down.  {Well, Jason does.  lol}

Today we went out to a tree farm and scoured the place for the perfect tree.  I think we nailed it!

Here are some pics from our adventures...

It's up and will be decorated tomorrow... pics obviously to follow :)

This was us last year.  Same place.  Waaaay lower temp. {It was GORGEOUS today, hot almost}

We also went to the city {NYC} yesterday, to drop off Gwen's Uncle Mark, and then headed to Bryant Park and Grand Central Station for some shopping :)  Another post for another time.

We've done sooo much this weekend and it isn't over yet!  Tomorrow we decorate our tree and Gwen's Grammi & Poppi are coming over.

I love long weekends!

xoxo.
