Gwen's Great! {And we are too!}

First and foremost... Gwen's surgery went beautifully!  She is home, healthy, happy, and running/climbing like her normal self. :)

I am sorry that I was MIA for the weekend.  I totally needed to relax and focus on the task at hand... I promise I am back, and that I will catch up ASAP.

Now for the details...

Since I scheduled the surgery {Thursday}, I have been a mess, and totally stressed about the fact that I was putting my 14 month old daughter through surgery.  I couldn't help but think, "She's SO little" and "HOW could I do this to her?"  And I was begging for a way to feel better about our decision.  Then it happened...

Sunday night, right before her bedtime, I was changing Gwen's diaper, when THERE IT WAS AGAIN!!  The hernia had reoccurred.  This time it was MUCH smaller and our surgeon had said instead of panicking {easier said than done}, to try to massage it back into place.

And it worked!

But, it was at that moment that I KNEW we were doing the right thing... I had gotten my "sign."

So, today we went in @ 7:30am {Gwen was not allowed to eat past 1:30am - no fun!} to Newark Beth Israel Hospital's Pediatric Same Day Surgery.  {One of the best Children's hospitals}.

Gwen was amazing while waiting!! {Especially for being hungry AND tired!} She was finally taken in @ about 10:50am, Daddy walked her into the OR, and the whole procedure was over in about 30 minutes!!

We met back up with her in Recovery, where she slept for a little longer.  When she finally came to, we were SO excited!  And she was SO thirsty, lol!  She was  a bit upset, but that is to be expected... I would be too!

We spent about 2 more hours in the Same Day Surgery waiting for Gwen to urinate {they can't let you go home until then}  and when she did, we couldn't get out of there soon enough :)

I kid you not when I say that you would not even know that this little girl was in the OR today.  She has been running, climbing, laughing, and being her normal self.  Of course, we all napped, and are now relaxing and breathing a sigh of relief!

I have to run... dinner and cuddles now, but I just want to send out a sincere thank you for all the love and prayers that were sent Gwen's way.  I truly believe in the power of prayer, even more so now... God watched over our precious little girl today and we could not feel more blessed.

We certainly have a LOT to be thankful for.

Being the little rockstar that she is while waiting :)

Right before her awesome Daddy walked her in

In Recovery

Now :)

Love you guys.

xoxo.
