Does She Know???

I'm linking up with Melissa today over at The Mommyhood Chronicles.  Check her out :)
Let me first say that people NEVER cease to amaze me {not in a good way}!

Gwen and I were up early this morning and decided to head to the grocery store to get our shopping out of the way {before the CROWDS showed up}.  It was a pretty normal trip...

...until our elevator ride down to the parking garage.

We head into the elevator and are greeted by the fellow passenger {a blonde woman, well dressed, probably late 50's - early 60's}.  As we pull into the elevator cart, she proceeds to say, "WHY helloooo little booooooyy!" {Idiot}

Having to deal with this all. the. time.  I smile politely and say "Girl" as I point to her earrings.

::gasps::

"Oh, I am SO sorry!" {Now here comes the best part} "Does she know?!?!"

WHAT?!?!  First off, I wish that at the moment, someone took a picture of my face, because I don't think that I have EVER been that dumbfounded.  I was shocked... and confused.

"Does she know what? That she's a GIRL?!?!"
{No, jackass she has no effing clue that she's a girl.  I was going to tell her on her 18th birthday!!!  Are you kidding me???}

"No, I mean, does she know that I just called her a boy?"

{Oh, lady, just keep digging that hole you are in!}

"No, it's fine."

The woman then proceeds to do a complete 180 and showers Gwen with more compliments than necessary about how she is such a "BEAUTIFUL little girl" and that she is going to be "just gorgeous" when she grows up.

{Well, actually I already know that, but do you really think that I believe you, when you just thought, actually CALLED her a boy?!?!}

No, I don't.  It was the loooongest 30 second elevator ride, and I was MORE than relieved when the doors opened and we were free from the brainiac's wrath of stupidity.

She followed us half way to our car, showering us with more fakeness, before saying "Goodbye precious girl" and heading on to make some other person "dumber in 30 seconds."

See what I mean, people just never cease to amaze me.

And that, peeps, was my morning.  lol.

Happy Saturday!  Enjoy your weekend!!

P.S. I didn't get a chance to post the other day that it was Gwen's Grammi's Birthday {on the 19th}
Happy Birthday Grammi! We love you!
xoxo.

A bleached blonde (the peroxide must have got to her brain)--tells the whole story! When my first daughter was about 9 months old, she still looked a bit boyish, too, because her hair had not really come in yet. I had her dressed in a pink sweatshirt and pink sweatpants, when this man comes up and says, "What a great looking boy you have there!" I replied to him, "She's a girl! That's why she's dressed in PINK." What a sheepish look he had on his face. Ha!

NO WAY!! What a moron!! People can be so stupid (as you already know!) My little cousins got called a boy until she was almost two years old! And she was always in pink. Go figure!

what an idiot! People never cease to amaze me. One day while we were in BRU Morgan got called a boy with a bow in her hair and all pink. Some people obviously dont get solid clues.

It never ceases to amaze me what strangers will say when it comes to babies. I guess seeing a baby makes people dumb? Anyways sorry you had to deal with that!
