Gwen's New Favorite Book

Something you should know about me, I am in NO way an impulse buyer... unless it is like 90 % off original price.  I believe that there is always a coupon, deal, or sale that I can find.  I would call me a research driven shopper.

But when I saw this on Pinterest {of course}, I HAD.TO.HAVE.IT.

So, I went over to Pint Size Productions and made one, that day.

We have such a big family that I thought I was a perfect way to display all of the special people in Gwen's life.

Well, it came today, and it is safe to say that we are in love.

It is beautiful and durable and the perfect size for Gwen.



The total cost was around $27, and although I wouldn't normally spend that much on a children's book, THIS is SO worth it!!!!

Done With This Week

Ugh.

That is how I feel about this week.

Gwen isn't any better... well that's a lie, her ear infections are better, but her lungs, still the same.  And now, with her nose running all week, she has a bacterial infection.

Like most kids when they are sick, she is not her normal self.  Tons of crying, and needing, and some more crying... poor girl... poor momma.

SO, I am done with this week.

Bring on a new week.

A healthy week.

Oh, wait, I forgot to mention that now Hubs and I aren't feeling so great.  Perfect.

If I throw in the towel for next week as well, do you think I have  better shot at a good week?  Lol.

Saw this on the most addictive site ever Pinterest tonight and it made me smile, and realize that not only will we survive, but this is not the last time that we will have to endure these kind of things.   And more importantly, that it is ALL worth it.  Every.single.second.

Wordless/Pinteresting Wednesday

Wordless {sort of} first.

I usually give Gwen a bath every night, it's our routine, Daddy does dishes, Mommy does bath.  But, Thursday night, while washing off a steak knife, I sliced into my finger and under the NAIL!  Ouch, right??  So Daddy was on bath duty, and I took the oppurtunity to take some pics!

Bronchiolitis, Snow, and Super Bowl!

I know I have been nowhere to be found, but there is a really good reason for it...

Gwen came down with a double ear infection AND Bronchiolitis!

Awesome, right?

Friday she woke up with a terrible cough {that had been brewing Thursday}, and I was going to wait out the weekend to see how she would make out, but the "mama bear" inside me told me that I needed to see Dr. A.

Thank goodness I did.

SO we have been huddled in our house, trying to get better, avoiding the snow that finally reached our neck of the woods, and anxiously patiently waiting for Sunday Football! 

Sunday finally came and Whoooooooooo HOoooooooooo!  Our G-Men pushed through for a victory, which means what, people???

Just that we are going to THE SUPER BOWL!!!!

We are so excited {can you tell that we are big NY Giants fans??}!

Back to baby girl... she is getting better day by day.  The cough still sounds awful and gross, but she's being a trooper.

Here she is all cuddled up and watching a movie...

We are taking it day by day, lots of cuddles and may have stayed in our pjs most of the weekend :)

Boob Tube Babble, A Day Late

Sorry this is late but, there is good reason {working on a posr for that}.  For now, let's talk TV.  Shall we?

Oh, reality TV, why do I love thee so much???

Seriously, I may be a full blown addict!

Kourtney & Kim Take New York - How wrong is it that the person I like most on the show now is Scott????  {of course after that adorable little Mason}  I understand that Kris is annoying a bit, but c'mon you don't throw in the towel that quickly. {ESPECIALLY, when half of your marriage you were both travelling!}

Real Housewives of BH - Ok, HOW in the world does ANYONE WITH A BRAIN, not know that Kim is wasted/high as a kite?!?!?  Thank goodness she got help, but I just don't understand why no one addressed it before?  And poor Taylor! {I am not usually her biggest fan} But, my heart just melted for her.  And Adrienne!! Ugh, girl, I usually DO like you, but shut the EFF up, Taylor is pouring her heart out to you and you keep bringing up all the drama.  Ughhhh.

Watch What Happens Live - I only watched Monday's episode, bc Kyle and Mauricio from RHOBH were on... but it was goood.  First and foremost, I would loooove to be BFFs with Andy Cohen, I mean who wouldn't?!? And Mauricio just seems like the perfect husband {other than mine OF COURSE}.  The only unenjoyable part?? Kyle's dumb split.  Your not a teenage cheerleader, get over it. 

Teen Mom 2 - Jenelle may be crazy, but it is obvi that she gets it from her Momma!  I think that woman is bi-polar!  Dear Chelsea, get your act together, get your GED, and start acting like an adult. Thanks!  And Kailyn, does she EVER smile?? she has that permanent pout, like you want to kick her so she just starts crying finally!! I know that she is having a rough time, but positivity goes a loooong way, girl

Criminal Minds - I've missed you.  WHY I like to watch a show about serial killers, when I am afraid of my own shadow?  I don't know... but I'm hooked!

American Idol - I don't usually follow the whole season, but those first audition shows I ADORE!  Oh, Steven Tyler, you are so incredibly hilarious and the things you say are so unpredictable, I adore you and your madness.

It's OK...

...that I have ANOTHER "to do" list for this weekend, but this time it's not just for the husband.

...to laugh at Gwen when she "fake" cries.  It's just THAT fake that you have to laugh.

...to sit on the floor every night as a family and make a mess of the living room with Gwen and her toys. {she won't be this little forever}

...to sometimes go to bed without picking up said mess.

...to still have one box of Christmas stuff that needs to be put away. {don't worry it's on the "to do" list!}

...that I dance and sing like and IDIOT to "Fresh Beat Band." {it makes my girl happy!}

...that I missed the Golden Globes.  It's really only the fashion that I care about :)

...to be seriously praying for the NY Giants this weekend!! We are die hard fans, and are super pumped that they have made it this far, but hoping they go even farther!  GO BIG BLUE!

All In a Day's Work

This morning we went back to Queens, NY, for another shoot with Rubie's Costume Company, and I am pleased to report that it was easy breezy today.

Gwen caught a nap on the way in, woke up in a good mood, and smiled that beautiful smile as they took her picture.

I'm such a proud momma :)

We're home now, relaxing, catching up on housework and blogs...  a good day.

Saturday's Top 5 Laughs

Old Man Winter is finally popping his head into our area, and it was a bit too cold for me this week!  Is it too early to start a countdown to Spring?

5.  Gwen's current favorite word is "no" and she uses it all.day.long.  But, it's amazing how impeccable her timing is.  Like I will say "Gwen, do you love Mommy?" "No." "Gwen, should we cuddle with Daddy?" "No." Makes me laugh out loud every time.  

4.  It amazes me how different a man's view can be after having a little girl.  For instance, I hear Jason saying "Gwen with never wear/do/look like that" more now than "WOW, that's hot!" Haha, oh the life of a parent!

3.  Speaking of the hubs, he seriously thinks that ANY time he changes a poopy diaper that he needs to document/broadcast it to me and that I should be handing over the medal of honor.  No, sir, for your information our poopy diaper changing ratio is a little unbalanced... just change it and move on.

2.  Lately, our kiddo movie of choice is "Despicable Me" and it is Jason's new fav.  He said to me last night, "Sam, I have to show you this guy from work, he's looks JUST like Mr. Perkins."  Ummm honey, I think you may have watched it ONE too many times :) But, I still love you anyway.

Boob Tube Babble/Fill In the Blank Friday

Happy Friday {the 13th}!  I'm not too superstitious about Friday the 13th, how about you?? 

SO excited that it is a 3 day weekend whoooo hoooo!

This week I watched...

The Real Housewives of Beverely Hills - I seriously don't think I like any of them anymore.  They are ALL nutso! HOW did Kim go this long without getting help?? She can barely put a sentence together!! And her bf... BARF!

Teen Mom 2 - 2 episodes!!  First, WHAT is Jenelle's mom's accent?? A little BAHston, a little southern?  Makes me laugh.  Dude, Jenelle, get your act together.  For REAL.  And ditch the loser, puhlease. And can we please find out what is wrong with little Ali??  That poor sweet baby has been through enough!

Jersey Shore - {I watch a lot of "reality" TV, lol} There are no words.  It's self explanatory. Lol.

Pawn Stars - Yes, I watch this with my hubby, and I do like it.  Some of the stuff they bring in is amazing, others, not so much!

Criminal Minds wasn't on this week :(  I missed it, and need it back next week!

Next Up...

1.  The last thing I ate was  an apple that I shared with Gwen.

2.  The last song that I listened to was {this is embarrassing} "If You're Happy & You Know It" sung by Mickey and Friends on Gwen's CD. Yup, I'm a mom. lol.

3.  Using the letters in my name I can spell  {Samantha} - Santa, ham{s}, man, hat{s}, tan{s}, than, ant{s}, ma, sat, mat{s}, and probably more, but I am moving on.

4.  If I had to dress in one color for the rest of my life I would pick  blue.  It's a good point that I would not be able to live without wearing jeans, so blue it is!

5.  If you were to look in my bag right now you'd find  all baby stuff.  Because I don't carry a purse {unless going out alone} I carry a diaper bag. :)  So you'd find diapers, wipers, toys, emergency snacks, water, A&D, and some other random baby "needs"

6.  When I finish filling in the blanks I'm going to  attempt to blow-dry my hair, then play with Gwen.

7.  My all time favorite song to dance is  ugh, don't have ONE that I could narrow it down to.  I am a NOW type of person.  I like all the current dance stuff.  But, anything Rihanna is ALWAYS going to get me moving!!

It's Ok...

...that although I am not a huge fan of the name "Blue Ivy,"  that I am IN LOVE with Jay-Z new song about his precious baby girl!  So freakin' sweet!

...that Gwen and I spent a whole day this week in our PJs. 

...to get annoyed at my husband after making me watch yet ANOTHER episode of "Sons Of Guns" "Big Shrimpin" or some other show of that nature.

...to make him THEN watch an episode of "Real Housewives,"  just because :) AND btw, those Beverly Hills women are OUT.OF.THEIR.MINDS.  Like serious Looney Tunes!

...that Jason cooks every now and then.  He's good at it, and it's nice to have a break.

...to be super excited for a three day weekend.  {And that I may possibly have a "Honey Do" list for hubs}

...that I snuck in nap one day this week.  Hey, I work 24/7, a nap is deserved!

1 Resolution Under Way

One of my "hopes" for 2012 was to meet other moms and get involved in play groups in our area.

And  last night, I took the first step.

I had read about the website Meetup.com on another bloggers website, and although they did not have the best of luck {they didn't really mesh well with the group} I thought it was the perfect place to start looking.

So, I sat down, typed in what I was looking for and BAM!  I found a Mom Group, IN MY TOWN!!!!!

I've filled out the intial information and am currently waiting to hear back from the group organizer.

Let's hope this all goes well!!!

Who wouldn't want to hang with this kiddo??
